Barka Arak a homemade alcohol, made with knowledge passed down through generations.
It’s triple-distilled in a still pot before it’s diluted to 53% ABV.
Arak is the national alcoholic drink of Lebanon.
In Lebanon, Arak is stored in clay jars, a tradition which dates to early Phoenician times.
Traditionally Arak is distilled in copper alembics. Arak is made of only two ingredients, grapes, and aniseed.
Aniseeds are the seeds of the anise plant, and when crushed, their oil provides Arak with a slight licorice taste.
Arak is served diluted in water turning it milky-white in color.
